Local Fire Department said it employed several ladders and a pulley system to save the student

Federal aviation authorities is looking into the fatality of a parachuting trainer following he became separated from his client during a jump in Music City, TN.

Police report instructor the instructor "is presumed to have fallen from the sky without a safety chute" during the dive on Saturday.

Fuller, 35, appeared to have separated from his client and a tandem rig, which links the two during a dive and contains the parachute.

A law enforcement aircraft located Fuller's body in a forested zone hours later. Local emergency crews used several ladders to reach the middle-aged student who lived through the descent after being stuck on a tree branch for some time with the emergency parachute.

Police stated several additional jumps, which took place near a local airport, were carried out without incident before the fatal fall. The plane from which they jumped also touched down without issue.

It is unclear how the instructor, an seasoned parachutist, got detached from the protective gear.

A individual who assisted fire crews in the operation told a local television station the student who officials saved said "it was his first jump, and it was going to be his final one".

The instructor had previously posted about his enthusiasm for teaching others how to parachute.

"Teaching people to skydive has always been in my opinion the most satisfying job at the jump site," the instructor said in an social media update in June.

"Observing students learn the skills and start flying their bodies is consistently a touching experience. Occasionally though, it can become quite chaotic up there when you release a student for their initial attempt."

That same month he posted images of the wreckage a skydiving plane he was on noting the aircraft's motor had failed after departure. All 20 people aboard lived through the incident.
