NFL Roundup: Broncos Edge Hapless Jets in Low-Scoring Battle

In a defensive struggle this weekend, the Broncos clinched a 13-11 win over the winless New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter touchdown pass and specialist Wil Lutz kicked the game-winning decisive three-pointer to secure the hard-fought win.

Defensive Display Wins Contest

Despite recording nine sacks versus Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 after giving up a two-point play in the second half. Interestingly, the Jets managed just 82 offensive yards throughout the entire game.

Nix, who went 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, led a decisive 12-play, 65-yard drive that ended with Lutz's 27-yard kick with just over five minutes left.

Historic Struggles for Jets Attack

In spite of their horrendous performance, the Jets maintained possession with a chance to score a possible winning score. But Fields was tackled on fourth down from the Denver 44 when coach Aaron Glenn opted to go for it instead of sending out specialist Nick Folk for a long kick.

Fields had difficulties throughout, connecting on just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. New York ended up with minus-10 passing yards, the lowest in any contest since 1998.

"The aerial attack was non-existent," the coach stated following the game.
