Heartbroken HK Residents Shocked as Large-Scale Inferno Engulfs Residential Blocks

Young scholar an eyewitness was among the many people drawn to the location of a tragic fire that swept through much of the eight-building housing complex in Hong Kong's Tai Po area.
At least over three dozen individuals have lost their lives in yesterday's devastating inferno so far, with numerous still missing, leading to expectations that this figure will possibly grow.
"We're facing a disaster," the witness commented about the incident, adding that he had seen a victim being taken away from the area.
In excess of a 1,000 further people were required to leave the estate as the flames spread, with many making their way to emergency shelters that have been organized to shelter them.
The blaze is slowly being managed, but officials indicate they do not know when it will be fully extinguished.

Several individuals have expressed anger that such a massive fire could have happened and challenged the reaction.
"In cases where there's a brush fire, they will deploy aircraft and dispense water bombs, but why is there zero deployment and how can they allow additional complexes on fire?" questioned a different occupant of Wang Fuk Court.
"This area is so proximate to the fire department and we assumed the fire could be controlled rapidly, but presently the fire has expanded. I'm so disappointed," she continued.
She noted that she had been offered no instructions from the government on where to obtain help.
Several Tai Po residents had delivered essentials to the impacted residents - consisting of dozens of warm layers and thermal aids.
During interviews about their sentiments regarding the tragedy, locals voiced that "the government is incompetent" and that they were "immensely heartbroken".
"We desire not to see any additional casualties," said one.
